Straight winds

This happened yesterday (the 17th).

My son and I are two lucky people!

I know it doesn’t look like much…but it just barely missed the pool

My son and I had just gotten out of the pool!

We were in the pool, enjoying the cool water…the sky was getting darker and darker and the wind was picking up. Everything happened so quick.

It’s hard to describe exactly what happened as it happened. It seems like one minute we were enjoying ourselves, the next – running for our lives!

I mean, my son was on the ladder, getting out of the pool, I was still in, waiting for him. I had to tell him to get moving. I was concerned, if not scared!

We were headed into the house – rather quickly – when I heard the tree start to crack! I looked back to see exactly where the noise was coming from! I knew it was near the pool area…I watched as it came down, at the same time I’m running, telling my son to run!

It really looked like the branch was going in the pool, but somehow it missed it!

I don’t know if I really conveyed the danger, but it was scary! This is the second time in my life I’ve personally seen/felt a straight wind, but the first time I’ve been outside! I really thought we were getting a tornado. Of course, I didn’t say anything to my son, he was scared enough!

Wow!!

Anyway, I’m going to be busy today pruning back the branch so my boyfriend can cut it up.

Add it to the wood pile!
