What makes me Happy!

July 25, 2019

Everyone wants to be happy, right?

Here lately, I’ve been struggling with being happy! And staying that way – or at least trying to! When I get into a slump, I grab my camera and head outdoors. I think that makes me the happiest of all…being outside! With my camera!

So, I decided to write about it. I could fill this page up with nothing but photos I’ve taken, but that might be boring! And you might think there’s something wrong. I know I do post nothing but pictures every once in a while, but that’s not normal for me!

The Great Outdoors… I already said being outside makes me happy. But it’s not just that. Being outside, in nature, with my camera brings me peace! It gives me a chance to get back to simple things, gives me a chance to breath and think.

Even sitting on the deck and drinking coffee makes me happy! It’s what I’m doing right now!

Friends and family… and pets! I think sometimes, our pets bring us more happiness than family members do! and that is because they don’t talk back! And they love us regardless, as long as we’re good to them!

The photo above is my Gracie…my beagle! We had to put her down in 2008. She was 13 years old! She really made me happy, despite the trouble she used to cause! I used to call her “Run Around Sue”…she’d go off wandering, gather a bunch of doggie friends and then come home. None of them ever followed her here though! She’d come home with dead ground hogs covered in blood, goose eggs… but she made me happy!

You’ve seen pictures of him before! He makes me laugh sometimes! I’ve never had a cat like him! He really does think he’s a dog!!

Working on my photos… I could spend all day editing the photos I take! But, I’ve got other things to do…so, I can’t. It’s actually not good to sit at the computer and stare at the screen all day! So, I don’t. But if I could, I would.

Swimming…and the pool. I love water, swimming in it and just lounging on it! The water, that is!!

Sometimes the pool has a lot more to offer than just cooling off on a hot summer day! A few years ago, we had a dead squirrel in the pool! I don’t know how he got there, my dad got him out! I just dumped some shock in the pool and went on about my business!

Ugg! The water was so dirty back then! It’s clear as can be now!

It’s not just the pool, either…

the ocean…

the river…

It doesn’t have to be clean, chlorinated water! If you remember, I went swimming on the last road trip my boyfriend went on!

So, those are just a few things that make me happy! What makes you happy?

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss

Hope everyone has a great, happy day!

(I’ll have to do another post, there’s so much more!!)
