My boyfriend and I went fishing on the Potomac River again yesterday morning! I had off because we were supposed to go to a concert, but we decided to save the money for more important things…like a new truck!
We went down to Knoxville to fish… it takes about 20 minutes to get there.
It’s a pretty drive, even without the fog!
The spot we like to fish at is about a mile from where we have to park! Which is totally fine…this time we brought a cart to put the fish and other stuff in! Should make life much easier, right?
The fog on the river was very mystical…
I took 100 photos on the river yesterday…obviously not all of them are included here! As a photographer, I take as many pictures as I can. Some are duplicates, and not all of them turn out. Especially when you’re using manual, which is what I do 99% of the time. I’ve gotten pretty good at figuring out what ISO I need – sometimes it depends on the mood you want to set.
I thought about bringing the other camera with the zoom lens, but I didn’t. Now I wish I had!! Next time, I’m definitely bringing it. That means that there’s more to lug around, but that’s ok!
I have no idea when the fog finally lifted, but these photos were all taken before 730 am. The last two were taken later.
We caught 4 fish, this is a blue catfish…the one’s we had been catching were mud catfish. We actually caught 1 mud and 3 blue. They say that blues taste better, but I couldn’t really tell the difference!
Earlier in the post, I stated that we had a cart and that it would help make life easier… well the two big wheels broke! Both of them!! It’s one of those carts that people use that don’t drive so they can bring groceries home easier. (It was my grandmother’s, she used it to lug her artwork around.) Once we got back up on the trail, we put the fish, chairs, pole holder and a couple other things in it…we were able to pull it, using the two smaller wheels! But it was not as easy…if the two wheels hadn’t broken off, it would’ve been much easier! But, we made it, my arms and shoulders were killing me by the time we got back to the car! But we made it! And we caught dinner for two nights!!
I have more to tell, but that is the highlight of the day! We both got too much sun, where we were fishing didn’t have any shade! We didn’t get any sunburn, which is a good thing, but the sun was hot! Even for as early as we were there! I’m so glad we have the pool, it helped me to cool off!
“Oh, Eeyore, you are wet!” said Piglet, feeling him.
Eeyore shook himself, and asked somebody to explain to Piglet what happened when you had been inside a river for quite a long time.”
