Sorry, couldn’t help myself!
I went out yesterday morning and was taking some pictures of some flowers when I heard something…not to far away! I froze! I looked! Without hardly moving a muscle – just turning my head – I saw a mamma deer and her baby! I tried to get a picture, but when I lifted my camera, they took off. Mamma went one way, the baby went another!
The baby actually ran closer to me! I waited a couple of minutes, then slowly walked up the lane, closer to the house. The baby deer was there, just on the other side of the lane. I was actually able to get somewhere around 20 pictures of it, but only 5 are usable! That’s the life of a photographer!!
It’s still got its spots, I’d say it’s only a couple weeks old. A few weeks ago – maybe 3 or 4 – we saw a doe on the property that looked “heavy”. In other words, pregnant!
It acted like it wanted to check me out…actually, it was! I thought for sure it was going to walk right up to me. But it never crossed the lane.
Such a pretty baby!
It all happened so quickly! Five minutes!! That’s all it took… I got some pictures of it on the other side of the tree, but they were too dark. I tried working on them, but to no avail. Maybe later, I’ll be able to do something with them!
Anyway, shortly after this photo was taken, it ran off into the woods at the bottom edge of the property. I’m sure mamma eventually came back.
So, that’s my deer story for today! My July photos will more than likely start tomorrow! I have one more day (today) to take photos, but for the most part, I’m ready. As of today, I haven’t taken as many photos as last month, but pretty close! I’ve still got today, right?
Which photo do you like the best?
Hope everyone has a great day! Today is National Raspberry Cake day!!
