Ugg! This is what I was doing all morning Saturday! Well, until 10am! It still needs a little work, but the bulk of it is gone. There’s some roots left (loose) and all I need to do is rake that out.
I started working on this garden back in 2016, before my dad went into hospice care. And I’ve put it off until now. And I can promise you, it will never happen again! In a week or two, I will be digging up some iris’ and transplanting them back into this garden. This garden originally had iris’ in it, then tiger lilies. Now, it has succulents, milkweed and soon – iris’.
And I found some pretty cool…stuff?
Yes, that’s a snake skin and I’m hoping that it’s been bleached by the sun! I’ve never seen a white snake around here. If it’s not a bleached black snake skin, I have no idea what it is. I guess I’ll be keeping my eyes open for different snakes. (Thinking about it, I guess it could be a gray rat snake, which is a possibility. We do have gray rat snakes here but it’s been a while since I’ve seen one.)
A caterpillar (woolly bear) and an inch worm (?). It was moving like an inch worm and was about the right size, so I’m calling it an inch worm. This caterpillar was all orange. The one in the first set of photos was pure black…so winter is going to be tough, I guess. (According to the farmer’s almanac it’s going to be bitter cold and wetter (snowy and icy) than normal.
And then as I was finishing up, I found this praying mantis. He wasn’t too bothered by my presence.
Just playing around in photoshop. Actually, this month (Sept) you will be seeing a series called “My Alien World” or something like that. And no, that’s not the surprise either! Only a few minutes to go!
A carefree letting go of oneself, not a caution, but a wise blindness.

If we are to have another contest of our national existence,
I predict that the dividing line will not be Mason's and Dixon's,
but between Patriotism and intelligence on one side,
and superstition, ambition, and ignorance on the other."
~ Ulysses S. Grant
The US right now is the perfect example of what can quickly happen to a prosperous business when you hire all the wrong people
Can someone update me on what's offensive today? It's hard to keep up!
Psalm 23 (KJV)
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Be thankful for the thorns and thistles which keep you from being in love with this world. ~ Charles Spurgeon
