Carefree Saturday 2

Oct 6, 2019

Most of the time, my Carefree Saturday, consists of whatever I do Saturday morning through early afternoon. And that’s usually enough, but, somehow, I knew that it would turn into a Carefree Weekend. It”s the first weekend I’ve had off since earlier this year – sometime in the spring, I think (other than being sick or having to call out because I pulled a muscle in my back). For the most part, it’s been a good weekend.

LAST NIGHT

Our neighbors, every fall, do fireworks on Friday and Saturday nights. It’s a farm – or used to be a farm. They now do a fall festival type of thing. It’s called Summer’s Farm. Sometime soon they are going to be developing the farm, but as of right now they’re still doing the fall festival thing. (We used to get milk from them back when it was still a working farm, but that’s for another post. I’m hoping that sometime after the festival, I can get over there and get some photos. Especially before they develop.)

So, anyway, last night I was able to get down to the end of the lane and get some photos of the fireworks. I think they turned out pretty decent…I had it on manual setting with the shutter speed set at 6 seconds, using myself as a tripod.

I still want to work on them a little, but for now, this will do! You’ll see at the end the abstracts I created from these photos.

THIS MORNING

It’s been raining or drizzling off and on most of the day – but we were able to get some pallets. The photo below of downtown Frederick this morning. The Frederick County Public Library is to the left, off camera. I was hoping to get more pictures during our travels, but it is what it is.

With all the rain today, we’re not getting much done outside today. That is why I am working on my photos. And I don’t feel guilty for not getting anything else done. I don’t think the little bit of rain we’ve gotten today and the other day will pull us out of the drought we’re in. But it helps!!

ABSTRACTS

Just a sample of what I’ve been working on today! The photos that are good enough for picfair or pinterest will be uploaded tomorrow. (I don’t upload to either site on Sundays. With work – usually – it’s a day for me to blog and work on photos and rest… try to get things caught up for the next week. That’s my hope anyway!)

I’m calling this one lines invert for now. I know what it looks like, but my brain’s just not wanting to cooperate. It looks like you’re looking up some trees or plants or something.

Field Daisy Abstracts

The next three are fireworks abstracts.

they look almost other worldly…

So that’s what I’ve been doing today. I’ll probably do some more work in a little bit, but first a break and probably a little nap!

Tomorrow is National Consignment Day, National Child Health Day, and National Chocolate Covered Pretzel Day. It’s also National Inner Beauty Day!
