In Ancient Egypt, yellow was associated with gold, which was considered to be imperishable, eternal and indestructible. The skin and bones of the gods were believed to be made of gold. The Egyptians used yellow extensively in tomb paintings; they usually used either yellow ochre or the brilliant orpiment, though it was made of arsenic and was highly toxic. A small paintbox with orpiment pigment was found in the tomb of King Tutankhamun. Men were always shown with brown faces, women with yellow ochre or gold faces.
The ancient Romans used yellow in their paintings to represent gold and also in skin tones. It is found frequently in the murals of Pompeii.

It’s been a good day! I am feeling much better, but not 100% yet. Within the next few days I will be back to my old self and be able to smell/taste things like a normal human being! Love, love, love the new washer – much quieter than the old one (the old one was one of the first HE (high efficiency) washers. The delivery guy told me that they put concrete blocks in the first machines to help stabilize. I can believe it ’cause when that thing spun, it made quite a racket!!

If we are to have another contest of our national existence, I predict that the dividing line will not be Mason's and Dixon's, but between Patriotism and intelligence on one side, and superstition, ambition, and ignorance on the other." ~ Ulysses S. Grant

Psalm 23 (KJV) The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
