Brown…everyone’s favorite color, right? It’s a main color around – in nature – right now, so I figured I’d go with it!

Brown is a composite color, made by mixing the colors red, black, and yellow or red, yellow, and blue
according to surveys in Europe and the U.S., brown is the least favorite color
obviously, the color brown is seen a lot in nature, eye color, hair color and skin pigmentation
the color is associated with plainness and poverty

Mummy brown was a pigment used in oil paints made from ground Egyptian mummies (I think I’ll pass on that one)
Van Dyck brown, known in Europe as Cologne earth or cassel earth, another natural earth pigment, made by decayed vegetable matter, used during the Renaissance through the 19th century. Takes its name from Anthony Van Dyck, but was used before that.

the Chestnut tree has also been used to make dyes, since ancient times; makes a beige or yellowish-brown dye
