Brown…everyone’s favorite color, right? It’s a main color around – in nature – right now, so I figured I’d go with it!

Hope you enjoy!

  • rustic
  • Mummy brown was a pigment used in oil paints made from ground Egyptian mummies (I think I’ll pass on that one)
  • Van Dyck brown, known in Europe as Cologne earth or cassel earth, another natural earth pigment, made by decayed vegetable matter, used during the Renaissance through the 19th century. Takes its name from Anthony Van Dyck, but was used before that.
  • walnuts have been used to make dyes since antiquity
  • the Chestnut tree has also been used to make dyes, since ancient times; makes a beige or yellowish-brown dye

Brown eyes: are quite a force to be reckoned with, straight shooters and honest to the point to be intimidating, faithful friends, but only allow a few lucky people into their circle, are not pretenders, they exemplify the phrase “what you see is what you get”
