or is it Holly’s cake brownie? either way, it turned out yummy! Keep reading to say why I say that!!

I made this from scratch and I totally messed it up, but it turned out yummy!

Using a basic brownie recipe from a Betty Crocker cookbook, I doubled the recipe since I was making it for the family reunion back in June. Or thought I was doubling everything….the recipe calls for 1/2 cup of flour. I put two cups in!

Yeah!! It was thick, thicker than thick!! So…what do I do? I added a heaping spoonful of butter and just enough milk to make it more of a brownie consistency.

Phew! Brownies saved!

Just thought I’d share this, as I haven’t shared any of my cooking photos recently!

I also added caramel chips and chocolate syrup on top!

the recipe is as follows (original directions):

1/2 cup butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs

2 1-ounce squares unsweetend chocolate (I used white chocolate squares, which will give it a different texture anyways)

1/2 cup sifted all purpose flour (does anyone sift the flour anymore?)

1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

As I mentioned above, I put 2 cups of flour in instead of 1 cup, a heaping spoonful of butter, caramel chips and chocolate syrup in as well.

I would have to say, if you try to recreate this, it may not come out the same way! I didn’t really measure the extra butter or milk, I just added enough to make it the right consistency for brownies… and hoped for the best!
