Northern Cardinal is also known as redbird, common cardinal or just cardinal, which is what we call them around here. It is the symbol of Virginia, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia, and can be seen from Canada, eastern U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize.

The cardinal represents a loved one who has passed and if you see one it means they are visiting you, usually showing up when you most need them…we have a bunch of cardinals around here, so if this is true, I have a lot of loved ones looking over me!

“A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” ~ Joan Walsh Anglund

  1. The tradition says that if a cardinal crosses your path or attracts your attention, there may be romantic relationship or a renewed romance in your near future. … Lore says that if you see a cardinal, expect good luck to follow, possible in 12 hours, 12 days or at noon or midnight.

Let me know how it works out!
