I’m not sure what these berries are, but they sure did grab my attention on that day back in December. They’re mixed in with, I think, black berry bushes. That’s what the thorny branches are…

Did you know…

  • ‘batology’ is the scientific study of blackberries
  • strawberries and roses are closely related, both belonging to the genus Fragraria
  • strawberries contain natural salicylates, an ingredient in aspirin, so the next time you have a headache, grab some fresh strawberries
  • gold raspberries are the sweetest
  • once raspberries are picked, they don’t ripen anymore
  • April 28 is National Blueberry Pie Day
  • Blueberries make a natural dye
