All About…plants?

Cell Phone Sunday?

I know that normally, I do this on Saturday’s, but I just wasn’t up for it. Plus, I wanted to update you on things. So, here we are…

AMAZON: Wild At Home

First, I wanted to show you my Christmas Cactus…that’s blooming again! It did bloom around Christmas, I showed you pics, right? Can I call it an Easter bloomer? I doubt the blooms will last that long…

Spring Cactus!

It must’ve been closer to Thanksgiving that it bloomed….

I really need to transplant it, but I’m scared to…my mom had had this plant ever since I can remember. I really don’t want to kill it!! πŸ™ I know it takes a mixture of sand and potting soil…I’ll just have to do my research and do it! I guess.

My mom always called it an Easter Cactus, because that’s when it would bloom. After she passed away, it started blooming twice a year. And so did the huge rose bush!

Then there’s this spider plant…

It’s normal for plants to drop leaves in the winter, especially if they are brought indoors for the winter. This one was the worse of the plants…just pull the dead stuff off, hopefully without uprooting anything or pulling any babies off, and you’re good to go!

watching me like a hawk!

The whole time I was cleaning up the spider plant he was watching me…he wanted to make sure I didn’t do any harm to his drugs! Yeah…did you know that Spider plants are like opium to cats. It won’t harm them per se, but you don’t want to let them eat it like it’s candy either. Chances are, if they eat too much, they will just throw up. Not pretty, but… at least it’s not poisonous.

When he first came to the house, he went crazy over the spider plants! I looked it up “spider plants and cats” or something like that, and learned that it’s like opium to them. So, for a while anyway, I had to put the plants up where he couldn’t get to them…yeah, you know how well that went!

Good as new!

And that’s been my day for the most part! My son and I watched the classic War of the Worlds. I fell asleep, near the end. I’ve seen it a few times…so no big deal.

I did want to show you this though…
