a tribute . . .

March 15, 2020

Today is my moms birthday…she would be 76. She passed away on Thanksgiving Day, 2007. It was a hard time and she is greatly missed by many, but she is with my dad – who passed away March 17, 2017, her parents and many others. Although there are tears sometimes, there is no more pain…

She was the love of my dad’s life, a great mother who inspired us to be ourselves and do our best, and a wonderful grandmother to her only grandson, who, by the way called her no-no-nana for many years! She was always chasing after him, saying…”No, no..”

So, this is a tribute to her…

Your memory is a treasure I hold in my heart
“The death of any loved parent is an incalculable blow.
Because no one ever loves you again like that.”
~ Brenda Ueland
Immortality: I want this as my epitaph.
IMMORTALITY
Do not stand by my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am a diamond glint on the snow.
I am sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight
I am the soft starshine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die.
~ Native American Farewell

Sometimes
I just look up,
smile,
and say
“I know that was you”

sometimes
I open my mouth
and my mother comes out!

Hope you have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!!
