my thoughts for today…
The photos below were taken with my cell phone today. The sun finally came out which meant I grabbed my cell phone and Canon and played. It felt really good…I’m wearing shorts and a tank top at the moment!
If you know me, you know that I can make a rainy day look good, but I’m not gonna brag. I’ve gotten plenty of rainy day photos here recently. And I’m sure there will plenty more to come in the near future. The last couple of years we’ve had a month (May) of flash flood warnings. So when I can get any sun right now, I’m going to grab it up! It does help disinfect, brighten the spirits and make everything seem so much nicer.
The first photo was taken while we were running some errands, near Jefferson. There’s talk of food shortages in the country – especially meat, but also includes veggies. While we were out I bought some cucumber seeds, will get them started once I find a pot to put them in. I know where the tomato and zucchini squash is going. Cucumber will go in the same area, I guess.
Sorry the nest photo looks kinda hazy, that’s what happens when you (I) go out and take photos in the mid day sun. I really just wanted to show you how big this azalea bush is…the deck is twenty feet long… this is the back of the house, and the tree you see peeking over the roof is a Tulip Poplar.
Some kinda yellow wildflower…
a buttercup…
did you know if you a buttercup under a friends chin you can tell if they like butter or not? If you can see a yellow reflection under the chin, you – or said person – like butter. That’s how the saying goes anyway!
“Buttercups
bright eyed and bold
hold their chalices of gold
to catch the sunshine
and the dew.”
~ Julia Caroline Derr
another praying mantis nest… So glad I’m finding these everywhere!
“Good bug
and bad bug
Holy pose
or killer strike
Instinct”
~ G.S. Romero
strawberry flowers… which means I will have strawberries soon. While out photographing the strawberries I managed to capture a bug (bee?) in the cup of one of the flowers, with my Canon. Which means that hopefully by Saturday I will have it ready.
another wildflower with a bug on it… I picked this flower from alongside the road a couple years ago and planted it in the garden. This year it’s really starting to take off!
