my thoughts for today
Sorry I’m late, we just finished setting up the new pool. It took us all afternoon. We probably would’ve been done over an hour ago, if we had paid attention to a little – major – detail putting the ladder together. The legs weren’t marked. Not obviously marked anyway.
It took us an hour just putting the ladder together! But we finally got it together, it’s stable, and it works! The new pool’s not as deep as the old pool, not as wide, but that’s ok. In order to get a pool as deep as what we had, we would have had to go wider in diameter, and we’re not ready for that. The old pool held 4,000 gallons, this one hold 3,200. I’m fine with it, which is all that really matters, since it’s my pool and I’m really the only one that uses it.
The pool only has an inch of water in it right now. I need to get in it and smooth out the wrinkles before adding any more. And that’s not happening right now. The sun’s going down and I’m already cold. If I get in the pool, I’ll freeze!
Before we set the pool up, I had to transplant a Rose of Sharon. It was growing through the tarp! They grow anywhere and everywhere, or so it seems.
I put it in the long, shade garden in front of the house. It will be much happier there.
The little green flower to the left is a tiger lily. A baby one.
There’s other flowers growing here as well as wild raspberries, and I will be sure to show you once they start blooming. You can’t see any raspberry plants in the photo. I actually had to dig one up as well as a viney plant and put it on the dirt pile I did this to keep it from growing into the rose of sharon.
I wanted to take the time now to let you know that, since spring is here and summer is around the corner, my posts might change a little bit. The first two of the day, will stay the same and hopefully the third (thoughts for the day) Monday thru Friday will stay the same as well. But on the weekends, I may or may not be able to share. As the temps get hotter, my time outside working will change. Depending on what I need to do. I don’t like being outside during the heat of the day. Unless I have to. I don’t even deal with the pool unless I’m going for a swim until after 3pm. The sun’s too hot. I hope that makes sense. I can assure you I’m not really going anywhere! I’ll try to let you know if and/or when things might change.
And because it’s already so late, I’m not going to do the National Day Tomorrow or my links…but I will leave you with this:
Count your blessings,
not your problems…
