I went off grid yesterday. Well, mostly off grid. I posted Sunday’s Inspiration yesterday morning, then shut everything down. It was a much needed break, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Not that I’m over stressed, overworked or anything…just needed a break.
One thing I did do yesterday, was go to the gas station to get gas for the lawn mower. One of the main roads near me, Butterfly Lane, has been dead ended at 180/Prospect Hall. They said they were going to do this, we just weren’t sure when. This has been in the works for a couple of years now. The photos included were taken on the way home from the gas station.
When the condos went in a few years ago, the plan was to dead end the road here. So much traffic going in and out, the only thing to do is divert the traffic. I’m sure there will be other photos in the future.
In the photo below…
A new road. This area used to be a farm, you can see the silo and farm house to the right, as well as a water tower. Where I live, is on the mountain range, somewhere near the middle.
There’s a tower between the silo and the water tower that we can not figure out the purpose of. It’s made of concrete block and has what looks like metal(?) cross beams at the top.
This whole area, that used to be a farm, is being turned into a park, which will include wetlands, nature reserve, swimming pools, and multi use areas. Among other things.
Thank goodness no housing is going up on this farm!
They will eventually reopen this part of Butterfly Lane. My guess is they closed it so they could get some much needed work done. There is another way to get to the closed part, if need be. Local traffic only. A little further down the road, there is a gas station, just beyond the water tower, with a light. The road we were just on (with the mountains in the background) will also come out at that light.
We just basically made a big circle.
Depending on how things go, and how bad traffic gets, we will probably avoid this road as much as possible in the future. There is a back road that will take us around all this, avoiding most of the traffic.
hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
