it’s been one of those days . . . again!

my thoughts for today

new fish for the fish tank

But it’s those days that keep life interesting! Right?

My boyfriend got his hunting license before he left for work this morning, which is no big deal. But he couldn’t get the printer to work! I tried to help before he left, but I was in the middle of my first post this morning. I told him after I finished, I’d work on getting it printed. Which is why I haven’t checked out any other posts, or even twitter or Facebook, this morning – or afternoon – whichever it is at the moment. I also promised my son I’d take him Christmas shopping today. We went to Wall-Mart, put air in my tires and got three new fish for the fish tank. In a couple of days, after they’ve settled down a little, I should be able to get some better/decent pics of them. It feels good to have a healthy number of fish in there again!

dnr license

For whatever reason I had to email the license to me, and print it from my laptop. Even after reconnecting the printer and the desktop computer, it still wouldn’t print. The only thing I could figure is that the wifi connection isn’t very strong back there, in the office. So, after emailing it to myself, I printed it, but it was tiny, as you can see in the photo above. I checked the details of the document – 19pi x 19pi (pixels). That is why!! So, I put it in PhotoShop, saved as a jpeg and tried printing again! It worked!! Normal sized!

Now I have to do the same thing with the forms I need to fill out for the doctors next week. Those forms printed out the same way. Considering it’s a 23 page document, I hope I can, but either way, I will figure it out – or have to drive over to the office and pick up the forms. Won’t get to it today, but at least I know what I need to do! I have 6 days to figure it out.

And as G.I.Joe says…”Knowing is half the battle!”

So after I got his license printed, my son and I went shopping. I think for the most part, we are finished shopping for Christmas. I need to get some stocking stuffers, but at least the main part is done. Everyone has presents under the tree, or will once they are wrapped.

Arrowhead Spider

Before I went to bed last night, I was able to determine that this spider – above – is an arrowhead spider/Triangulate Orbweaver. I have never personally seen one around here before, but according to my search they are found in deciduous forests from New York to Florida to California. It’s one of those spiders that put its web right at face level. It’s different from other orb weavers in that its abdomen is shaped like an arrowhead as opposed to round and it usually sits on its web with its head pointed up. Most orbweavers, Arrowheads included, build their webs at night. It is not poisonous.

So, here’s to the rest of the day being a little more relaxed! I really had other intentions for today, but… I had no control! None what so ever!!

Hope you have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Stop what you're doing and LOOK at this cute spider!

I shall play you the song of my people

take care
stay safe
much love

that’s what I typed into the computer “spiders with yellow arrowhead shape on abdomen” to get my answer. Variations of “yellow and black spider” kept coming up garden spider.
