the mountain range in the background is somewhere near Harper’s Ferry, although I haven’t been able to determine exactly what mountain range it is…I guess actually, you would be looking south, southwest, due south is almost off frame (left) of the photo.

I choose

I choose to live by choice, not by chance
To be motivated, not manipulated
To be useful, not used
To make changes, not excuses
To excel, not compete

I choose self-esteem, not self-pity
I choose to listen to my inner voice,
not the random opinion of others

it snowed again last night and I’ve been busy taking photos throughout the morning, which is why I’m later in posting today – photos below.

To remember who you are
you need to forget what they told you to be

It’s hard to tell, but we’ve gotten about 4 3/4 inches of snow. At the moment, it’s not snowing, but we’re supposed to get more tonight, then on Saturday they’re calling for ice. If I heard correctly, we could get up to 2 inches of ice…I’d rather have snow. Although ice makes for neat pictures. It’s just so destructive….

I guess we’ll see what happens…

One of these days, I will end up somewhere like this…although I’m pretty much there. My mom used to tease that slowly, dad was moving us/her further and further west. They started out in Riverdale/Hyattsville Md which is near Washington D.C., then they moved to Frederick, then in 1990 we moved into this house and although it was only about a quarter mile, it was still further west. They had planned on moving to Tennessee before mom got sick again. The only thing that’s really stopping me at the moment is the fact that I have so much “stuff” to go through and get rid of…which is why I’m having yard sales this summer. The future is in God’s hands, and if I am supposed to end up in Tennessee or West Virginia, it will happen…right?

I call it the middle of my world

There is something about silence and being in the middle of nowhere that is really very attractive.
