picture(s) of the week
my thoughts for today
All of the following photos were taken with my LG cell phone camera this past week…
the above photo was taken from the Tractor Supply parking lot, late Wednesday afternoon, when I went to pick my boyfriend up. The night before, there had been a real pretty red sunset but I didn’t have my cell phone, or CANON with me to snap a photo. Oh well…there will be plenty more sunsets, right?
the following photos were taken during my walks around the property throughout the week…
Some time ago, but not that long ago, tree trimmers came out and trimmed the trees along the power lines and left some branches laying about. Some of them they cleaned up, but not all. I’m guessing that they saw that we have a wood stove and left the bigger pieces, like the ones in the photo above. I found some branches that were laying along side the wood piles we have scattered about the property. That I got irritated with… why couldn’t they take a couple minutes, if that, and just put them on the wood pile? I was irritated, but I tossed them on the pile and kept on going. Gave me some exercise, so I guess there’s that. I will tell you this though…I wasn’t dressed to be tossing branches on the wood piles. As I was just planning on going on a short walk and taking some photos, I had just put a sweatshirt over my night gown. Oh well…no one around to offend or take notice. The perks of the country life!
Just some proof that we have some deer wandering about…not like I have to prove it or anything. I know you’ve seen photos of them before. During the real cold month of February we hardly ever saw them, except for the prints they were leaving in the snow. They were everywhere, even coming up close to the house to get what they could to eat. Here in the last week or so, they’ve been making themselves visible in broad daylight…at least a half dozen of them. And I never have my camera!
“Oh deer, what can the matter be?
Deer, deer, what can the matter be?
Oh deer, what can the matter be?”
~ Nursery Rhyme
This song, or nursery rhyme dates back to 1770 England
you can read more here, if you would like: Oh Dear What can the matter be?
I changed the “dear” in the original to “deer”, just to go with the photo

Daffodils are popping us everywhere! This bunch is growing in the woods, near the top of the property.
I might play with this photo some…looks Impressionistic at the moment. My cell phone camera does this sometimes. I did crop it, actually transformed it in PhotoShop this morning, which I’m sure has something for the way it looks. I know I’ve got a vivid imagination, but to me it looks like there’s an impression of a tree on the hill to the left of the pony.
what feels like the end is often the beginning
It’s been a long week, or at least seems that way, with having to take my boyfriend back and forth to work…but I’m here, it’s Saturday and I’ve got some gardens calling out to me!!
Deep breath… yeah, I’ve actually managed to get the debris in all my gardens but two mowed down, raked and breathing happily. Not much more to do, hopefully I can get the rest taken care of today or tomorrow! Sorry this is so late, I had no idea where I was going with this today or that it would take me so long!
hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
