This is the second time in a month or so that I’ve woken up in the morning to an empty bird feeder. Yes, there was food in the plate before it got dark last night. I guess I’ll be biting the bullet and purchasing a trail cam and setting it up at the feeder. Just to see…probably a raccoon? Bear? What else would go after bird food? Could be deer, but in my experience, they typically only go after bird food in the deep of winter when there isn’t much food available. At least around here…

  1. Raccoons will eat anything. I was freaked out once because they climbed a tree and flipped a bird feeder around a limb to eat the seed.
