I just wanted to take a few minutes to share what I’ve been doing the last couple of days…
I got this text message from my former employer…
Home Instead had missed you, and we are hiring CAREGivers for all shifts. We have new wage structures, bonuses, and benefits available. We would love to welcome you back
this was on July 31, last Saturday! They must be struggling to get people to work…when I quit back in October 2019, they told me that if I quit, I couldn’t come back. I knew what I was doing when I quit, what I didn’t know was coming was Covid. If I remember correctly, China (Wohan) was dealing with the virus…but it wasn’t a worldwide problem at the time. I also didn’t know that two years later, I would still be unemployed.
Anyway…I won’t be going back, not anytime soon. I refuse to wear a mask for hours (it has been proven that masks do more harm than good) and I won’t get vaccinated! I won’t participate in an experiment. Ten years down the road, when the results have come out…maybe, maybe not. I have written posts about my thoughts on COVID and the vaccines, my latest one being I Will Not Comply, written just a few hours ago.
Yesterday, a high school friend came over and brought us a truck load of Chestnut! It needs to be split, but we plan on buying a splitter soon. We’re in the process of moving wood so we can build a woodshed…then, we’ll be moving wood back to the woodshed so we have wood for the winter. A lot of work, but it’s good exercise! All of the stacked, split wood is leftover Ash from last year!
We also brought home a mattress…
I’ve been waiting to get a mattress for the spare bed for about a year…my boyfriends mother is coming up for a night this weekend. With my family’s lifestyle, it’s better for her to sleep in the guest room, rather than in the living room on the pull out sofa. This way, everyone will be comfortable. The bed frame…if it could talk, it would have a story to tell! I don’t know exactly how old it is, but it was my great grandmothers bed before I started using it. When I came out of the crib, this was the first bed I slept in – besides maybe with my parents or when we went camping. But, all of that is another story!
This morning I went out and trimmed bushes and stuff along the lane. I didn’t take many detail photos…if any, but everything I trimmed was reaching into the lane and needed to be pruned back…
cedar tree, sage tree, and azaleas
The cedar is on the left in the first photo, the sage in the second photo on the left…the poor cedar is being taken over by vine. Maybe, later this fall I can get back out and do some work on it…the main thing right now, is to trim it so it’s not hanging in the driveway.
I honestly thought I had taken more photos…I worked for about two hours before quitting because the sun had gotten too hot! As you can see from the photos, I was for the most part in full sun. I had hoped to get out earlier, but it is what it is. After a quick dip in the pool, my boyfriend and I went to run some errands in town.
look who made another appearance…
I noticed him when I got out of the pool, had to run up to get my phone off the charger so I could get a photo! He didn’t seem too worried about me, I was pretty close to him. I only cropped it a little, taking out part of the hose at the bottom of the photo. A half hour later, he had disappeared…who knows where he went.
“Whatever purifies you is the correct road.”
hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!

…and just so you know, I am about a week into a 30 day “timeout” on facebook for sharing “misinformation”. I have to laugh though…the meme they got me on is one they said there was no proof the guy said what he was being quoted for. If that’s true, there’s no proof he didn’t say it either. So…whatever…
