better at a snails pace, than not at all, I guess
~ all photos taken between September 23-27 ~
So, as many of you know I did my back in last weekend, weeding my flower garden. Which really put a damper on doing much of anything all week long. On Friday, I started feeling almost my old self again, then on Saturday I woke up with chest congestion. I started taking medicine, using my nebulizer, upping Vitamin C intake, but by that night, I knew I needed to get started on Mucinex ASAP! And, in my brain, I’m wondering how I was going to manage that with all the Covid stuff going on. I said something to my boyfriend, he said he’d get it for me! Thank goodness!!
So, on Saturday my medicine looked like this:
Yesterday, I switched out Nyquil for Mucinex DM Max (chest congestion) and added Vicks Vaporub. Because I caught the congestion early enough, today, I am taking Mucinex and the nebulizer breathing treatment every six hours instead of 4.
I’d rather not be doing any of this, but it is what it is and I’m able to take care of this at home. I might be moving slower than normal at the moment, but I am moving. Much better than I was last week.
Oh, I’m supposed to take the allergy medicine twice a day to help keep this kind of stuff at bay, but I slacked off there for a while. As soon as my boyfriend told me his mother was sick, I should’ve started taking my allergy medicine…knowing there was a pretty good chance he’d bring it home. Which he did…he took medicine for two days and was better. I can’t be so lucky!!
He’s bugging about getting out somewhere…that is, my boyfriend. I told him, not until this cold gets better. With covid and everything, I don’t want people freaking out! It’s just a cold, but people/the public may not think so. If you know anything about me, I have yet to be tested for covid, that’s not changing now. There’s no way they are sticking that thing up my nose, not while I’m conscious, anyway! (If you didn’t know, they are doing away with the PCR test here in the US by the end of the year, stating that the test can’t differentiate between covid, flu, cold, or any other bug!)
So, I’ll just stay home and rest and get better. I really don’t get why he thinks I need to get out and about anyway…going fishing or hiking is one thing. Going shopping and dealing with the public? Right now? With this cold? Sorry, I’d rather stay home, get better and do all that stuff later.
…just playing around, with the photo filters, a little…
Why not have a little fun, right?
Chances are I just got this cold from my boyfriend, and not from being around vaccinated people. Is it possible that being at the party did something? Sure. But again, I’m not speculating, as my boyfriend’s mother was sick – did I mention he had spent a week with her on the Eastern Shore for his son’s birthday? he did – and he brought it home. That’s all I really know for sure, at this point!
For the next few days, I will be taking it easy, taking my meds and resting whenever possible! I’ll try to keep up with everything as normal, but no guarantees. My main thing right now, is to get better so I can do “normal” again. I have some posts up my sleeve, but they have been put on hold for the time being.
When I was walking around the house a little this morning, which I finally have the energy to do again, kind of, I noticed my red rose bush has one red bloom on it. YAY!!!! It’s not unusual for them to bloom again in the fall, but I hadn’t noticed this one doing so. So, I am happy!!
That was my weekend, and my day! Hope yours has been better!
I am grateful I am in a place where I can rest, and take care of myself
and not have to stress about “life”!

You seem a decent person. Don’t fall for the covid propaganda.
I’m not…you can believe that. I have a cold, and nothing more than that, the main thing that concerns me at the moment is the “shedding” or transfer that could possibly be happening between vaccinated and unvaccinated? I don’t really know a whole lot, which is why I won’t speculate…but I have my opinions, which I may write about sooner or later.
I’ll share this, because I know most people don’t follow the rabbit of reason, watching what’s happening in this country against the backdrop of historical context, because they have their lives to live. I was fortunate to have grown up with friends who all thought for themselves, then having a ton of jobs, meeting people from everywhere, before becoming a teacher and seeing how the politicians destroyed public school. It took me a long time to realize we weren’t properly educated, historically, and in this, I wanted to understand, and as such, we try to get others to think for themselves. The entire time I taught, for over two decades, we worked hard to get the students seeing things for themselves, having those “ah haa” moments, and I never cared that they agreed with me, but that they saw things for themselves. I believe that leads to a truly free country. But I understand, if most people weren’t properly educated in school, how can they realize what’s going on? All the best. Great blog site!
Thank you! I do agree with you 100%. You wouldn’t believe the disagreements my boyfriend and I have regarding education, regarding what’s going on with the education system, let alone everything else. Maybe I’ll post about it, as soon as I can wrap my head around it, get my thoughts in order. The only thing we agree on is that it’s a good thing we don’t have young children.
When I started homeschooling my son, it was an eye opening experience, to say the least. The amount he grew in the first year was astonishing, he went from reading ‘graphic novels’ to a 500+ page book in a matter of months. His “ah haa” moments made me realize that I had done the right thing, and there were many.
Thank you!
You’re a good mother. With time, more people will understand, and like you, we see things as they happen.
Sorry you’ve been having such a rough few days. Hope you feel better soon, with rest and medications.
I like the photos of flowers, moths, and spiders. 🙂
Thank you! One day at a time, right? Colds usually take a week to 10 days to completely knock out…but I am feeling slightly better 😊❤
