My Thoughts For Today

~ all images taken other the weekend

My brain hurts…woke up this morning with a sinus headache. There are thunderstorms in the area, so once they pass through I should feel better. Other than that, and this cough I just can’t seem to totally get rid of, I feel almost 100% again. I didn’t use the nebulizer or take any Mucinex this morning…but instead Robitusin cough, I’ve also started drinking a apple cider vinegar concoction (recipe at the end), mullein leaf extract (also at the end, with basic benefits).

I didn’t plan on taking the weekend off, but I needed it. Just trying to get myself back to my normal self, it’s exhausting! I didn’t really do all that much, mostly rested, with little spurts of doing things – visiting with my frog friend, whom I haven’t seen too much from over the summer – which is odd – but I digress for now, bringing in my houseplants at my leisure…need to get it done before the first freeze. I believe I have in the neighborhood of 50 house plants that need to come back in. Doing a little bit here and there is a lot easier than trying to get them in all at once.

I’ll probably taking weekends off
until either the weather changes
or I don’t need the weekends to do
what I need

On two of my house plants I found two of these…nests, cocoons… something… not sure what they are, but I took pictures, then put them in another planter temporarily. I’ll put them somewhere else at some point.

Yesterday, I sat out by one of my gardens and just enjoyed some sunshine, butterflies and bees.

It was nice, just sitting there, soaking up the early October sun and watching all the critters flitting about the garden.

closing the pool is sad, but something that must be done

I’m still going on my daily walks, even with this cough I’m trying to get rid of. Actually, moving around and walking is good for the lungs and does help with the cough. Just try not to overdo it…my boyfriend wants me to do this, and do that, I just don’t have the energy. Plus, with everything going on…staying home is really the best thing for me at the moment. Sure, I could go out but it’s not really for me. The last time I went out, I ended up sick and have been on the mend ever since. Going fishing….yeah! Going to a ‘social gathering’…nope. Not happening, at least for a while…and I think he’s figured this out. If I have any kind of ‘feelings’ about going, I shouldn’t be made to go.

The one on the right I just like

can’t explain it, looks like it’s
distorted by a sun flare
but it’s actually a wildflower

well, ain’t that some . . .

Don’t know what produced this pile of cr@p…I noticed it when I walked out front to grab some house plants. I’m glad I was looking where I was stepping, as I was barefoot…any ideas on who left this present for me? I’m thinking fox, big raccoon, or possibly male deer/buck…

I don’t have too much else to add, not at the moment anyway. Basically, I am feeling better, just need to get rid of this cough and headache. Anything else will have to wait for another day!

Apple Cider Vinegar

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
honey according to taste
ice
8 oz+ water
*add lemon, lime, berries, or whatever else you want to help hide the ACV (apple cider vinegar) taste.
ACV helps regulate blood sugar, enhance weight loss, can lower bad cholesterol, reduce scaring and treat acne (skin health), reduce blood pressure, relieves symptoms of acid reflux, wards off seasonal allergies, acts as a natural deoderant (just dab some on your armpits, according to the website), natural detox/may remove chemical residue. (Apple Cider Vinegar Benefits, Uses and Best Types – Dr. Axe (draxe.com)) There are so many denefits to adding acv to your diet, just be sure not to drink it alone, always mix it with water and whatever else – almost anything, really, drinking acv by itself may burn the esophagus.

Mullien Tea

benefits: contains flavonoids, saponins (believed to be the explanation for the herb’s expectorant actions?), tannins, terpenoids, glycosides, carbohydrates, proteins, fats and oils; approximately 3 percent mucilage (responsible for the soothing actions that the herb has on the body’s mucous membranes?); helps relieve ear infections, calms bursitis, disinfectant, eases respiratory ilnesses (bronchitis, dry cough, sore throats, general hoarseness, asthma, tonsilitis)
Can make a tea, or add the extract to coffee, tea.. extracts and supplements can be found in stores and online (I have the plant growing on my property, so I boiled the leaves and made a tincture, which I then add to coffee). The website suggests using it three to four times a day. Mullein Health Benefits, Uses and How to Make the Tea – Dr. Axe (draxe.com)

Oh, one more thing, I think I’m in facebook jail. Oops!! I try to post, share, like, comment and I keep getting a message that I’m not online. But I can get on youtube, email, blog…I haven’t gotten any notification as to why or what I did wrong. We’ll see… ~UPDATE: Apparently FB is experiencing an outage…why I didn’t figure that out before now…?

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!

  1. I like your little froggie friend! Hope you feel better soon. Oh, I heard that FB was completely out for about 6 hours, so maybe that was your problem with it.

    • Thank you! ❤ I feel like today I’m really almost completely there! It was, still having issues with Facebook…but at least I know I’m not in jail 😂 I’m just so happy I’m seeing all my little critter friends again. There for a while everything disappeared, which was strange. Even the birds are starting to come back!
