I need to be alone sometimes

Weekend thoughts

~ all photos taken over the weekend, unless otherwise noted

burning sage

I’m not doing too much, now that it’s gotten cold out. What I have to do, yes, but not too much more! I’m one of those, that if I could hibernate, I would.

I took a detox bath yesterday, and decided to burn some sage while I was soaking. I have an old candle that I put some dried sage leaves in. I have a couple sage trees growing wild on my property…I just take some leaves, and sometimes a couple of small branches when I trim, dry them and burn them. There are many benefits to burning sage, some of which are improving air quality (antimicrobial qualities) and mood, reducing stress and anxiety, repels insects. There are also health benefits to using sage internally, but I have gone there yet. It is a spice, and can be used in recipes.

I actually threw a couple handfuls in the woodstove last night! The log was barely burning, there were red hot coals…I threw a couple handfuls in, the image below is the result! And it was hot!!!! So now, when I have trouble getting a fire going, I know that dried sage will probably get it going!

Let’s go Brandon!!

A Facebook friend sent me these stickers! I had sent her some “I did this!” stickers with Biden, so she made up these stickers for me! I’m going to put a set on my car as well, but not yet. When it warms up a little.

If It Bleeds by Stephen King
The Great Controversy by E. G. White

For two years now I’ve barely been able to pick up a book, which was/is very concerning for me! It’s not that I couldn’t read, I just couldn’t concentrate long enough to read more than a couple pages at a time. I had been trying to read WICKED, about Esmeralda and OZ but I finally had to put it away. Then, The Great Controversy came in the mail…I kept it on the coffee table for a while and finally picked it up and was able to finish a whole chapter! I honestly have no idea where the book came from! But it feels like it was supposed to end up in my hands! It’s about the Vatican’s rising influence in America, originally written in the 1880’s. But it goes way beyond the influence in America, but also the history of the Vatican after Jesus’ death. I won’t go into it here, but maybe in the future…

Some night/moon photos… the one on the right, above, is severely edited!

My boyfriend’s hunting trip…so far anyway! Just a couple photos he’s sent me.

His bed in the back of the suburban and a dam/man made waterfall near where he’s hunting. Not sure how long exactly he’s going to be gone…I know he’s coming home for Thanksgiving, then he’ll be off again. Of course, that also depends on if he shoots anything, that will make him come home sooner, as there is no place where he is to store the deer. I have to laugh though, because before Saturday, there’s really no place to put it here either. Our new chest freezer is being delivered Saturday! I told him that if it came to it, we could always dig a hole in the ground and cover it with a piece of plywood and something heavy so any critters can’t get into it! I was mostly kidding, but not! It’s cold enough here right now, that if we needed to dig a hole to store something, we could. Even during the summer, if you dig in the right spot, food will stay cold underground.

I was going to mention something else, but it slipped away…so I will leave it here for now!
