weekend thoughts

November 29, 2021

It’s been a frustrating weekend, but I’m still here…with a smile on my face!!

where’s the freezer?

The freezer chest was supposed to be delivered Saturday between 12 and 4pm. We waited, and waited . . . my boyfriend got the doors ready to take them off the hinges, to make it easier to get the freezer in the doors and down the steps into the basement. 4 o’clock came and went, around 5 I gave Lowe’s a call…they told me to wait a little bit longer. Real frustration was starting to set in. Around 6 pm, I finally got a call saying that the truck had broken down and the delivery wouldn’t be made “today”. Uggg… I called Lowe’s back to see about setting up a new time, was told “we can’t do anything until the items are back at the store.” So, Sunday comes…I’m waiting for them to call me, my boyfriend’s gone to do the grocery shopping. He gets home, still no call from Lowe’s!

When he got home, he told me he stopped by Lowe’s…he wasn’t happy! After waiting for at least a half hour, someone finally tells him that it’s set to be delivered on Tuesday! As of this afternoon, I still hadn’t gotten any kind of curtesy call, to confirm anything! So, we head back over to Lowe’s.

As of right now, it’s supposed to be here tomorrow between 8am and noon. I finally got a call around 530 this evening! Took long enough!!

The worst part is, my boyfriend’s supposed to be hunting right now! I’ve had to put off doing things, so I could wait for them!! I mean, it’s not like I needed the freezer yesterday because my freezer went bust and need something to put the food in before it spoils. If that were the case…they’d be replacing all the food!!! This freezer is so we have extra space to put food, with all the hunting and fishing we’re doing. And plan on doing in the future.

The customer service we’ve dealt with this go around hasn’t been the best. It’s not their fault the truck broke down, but it could’ve been handled a whole lot better! My boyfriend’s got his thoughts on this, as do I, but it will have to be a topic for a later post.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.”

You have to understand
most of these people
are not ready to be unplugged.
And many of them are so inured,
so hopelessly dependent
on the system,
that they will fight to protect it.

take care
stay safe
much love
