it’s the most wonderful time of the year
So… I’m not doing a whole lot of decorating for Christmas this year. A little, but not much. I’m just not in the mood for Christmas this year. My boyfriend had asked me to put the Christmas Garden up this year, so his mother could enjoy it, and at first, I was okay with it. But as Thanksgiving got closer, and closer the more I felt like not doing it. It takes me two days to get the tree and garden up, and I just didn’t feel like doing it. The last time I set it up was in 2018… it needs to be set up again, get the trains running and all. But not this year.
Everything’s good, just don’t feel much like decorating and all that,
Here’s some older photos of the tree and garden taken throughout the years…
There are two trains on the platform. One was my mom’s from her first Christmas in 1944 – or so I’ve been told. It smokes, whistles, has a milk car that empties milk bottles onto a metal platform (you can see it beside my cat, above), dumps logs, and uncouples. The train still does all this as far as I know… the log car would dump onto the other track, so we don’t mess with it too much. When I set it up, I make sure that everything works, and that it gets “run” a few times before packing it back up. The other train set was mine and my sisters when we were growing up. Most of the houses and churches my grandfather made, having added items here and there.
Hope you have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!!
A little smile, a word of cheer, a bit of love from someone near, a little gift from one held dear, best wishes for the coming year. These make a merry Christmas!
