I didn’t cook the brownies entirely on top of the wood stove, I could have, but it would have taken all day. Maybe longer.
What I did was bake them in the electric stove for 38 minutes, then stuck it on top the stove for another hour and a half. When cooking on top the stove like this, it takes longer. Which could be totally worth it…smelling the food cook all day long while doing whatever around the house and finally getting to sit down to enjoy it! Heavenly!! My mom used to cook on top of the wood stove when I was younger, and it was delicious. When we would go tent camping for a week or so, we would cook dinner over the fire, even brewing coffee over the fire in the morning.

One of these days, I am going to cook – or finish cooking – something other than brownies on top the wood stove. I have put hot dogs on to the wood stove to thaw out before, not sure if that counts as ‘cooking’ though…lol Anyway, I’ll start with a grilled cheese sandwich, then go from there.
