between ice and snow, I choose snow any day

January 17, 2022

it’s the most wonderful time of the year

We survived the storm last night!! The power flickered a few times, but it never totally went off, and a few tree branches came down but nothing major. We lost Wi-Fi for about an hour or so, but we can do without that. I was working on WordPress when the Wi-Fi went out, but that’s ok. I’m here now and we’re all safe and sound.

The above images are ones I took last night, around the time the snow turned over to ice. The first image is of ice on the elm tree; the second image is of rescue equipment in the parking lot below my house – apparently the power flickering on and off caused the alarms in the building to go off, alerting the police/rescue team, we think; the third image is behind the house, looking towards the interstate; the last image is one of my wind chimes with snow on it.

One tree did get uprooted, but it’s not anywhere close to the house…so all is good! The tree isn’t on our property, but it fell onto our property, and will be cut up and stacked for the wood stove.

It’s too cold and windy and icy to go walking around taking pictures. At some point, I will put on my snow clothes and boots and take a walk, but not right now. Any cleanup we have to do will be later, when the weather improves. As long as there’s nothing major, it can wait.

It’s supposed to warm up throughout the week, and we could get some more snow this coming weekend. We shall see…When it comes to snow and ice, I’d rather get snow. Ice is just so dangerous, all the way around.

Sometimes the strength within you
is not a big, fiery flame for all to see.
Sometimes it’s just a tiny spark
that whispers ever so softly
“You’ve got this. Keep going.”

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!

Due to the recent coin shortage
no one is allowed to put their two cents in anymore.

So you’re telling me vaxed (vaccinated) people can still catch and spread covid?

Yes, and I’m tired of pretending they can’t

  1. Yesterday I was watching a news clip about an athlete who was suffering from myocarditis after his booster shot, then the announcer just started changing the message saying that the unvaxed are more likely to suffer from these heart conditions and reminding everyone to get their shot. Just like that the media flip the story. Sickening really, along with all the lies and misinformation that is repeated constantly. They rammed through the agenda with the fake pcr tests, so now they don’t need these tests anymore because it has served its intended purpose.

    • It’s hard watching any tv anymore. Even channels that lean conservative are pushing the vaccine. Discrimination, any kind, is rampant now.

I had heard that they were going to stop using the pcr tests because they aren’t accurate, coming back with too many false positives. Now you can get in home rapid tests. But of course, they change the narrative…hoping we’ll forget what happened yesterday. And most do.

I saw a video the other day that in Canada they’re going to start taxing the unvaccinated. Is it a scare tactic?

      • I heard that too about taxing the unvaccinated but have not seen it enforced or implemented . May be a scare tactic.
