throwback Thursday

Don’t just tell your children about the world

~ the hardest part about travel, is going home. No matter where it is I go…if it’s a day trip, or a long weekend getaway, or a longer vacation…I never really want to go back home, even though I know I must. This particular trip was just a day trip, down and back in one day. We listened to a Bluegrass band, ate some lunch and went on a hike…which could have been devastating. We left the van, thinking we wouldn’t be that long, and opted not to bring supplies with us. ALWAYS BRING SUPPLIES WITH YOU!!!!! We ended up going on a side trail, which took us longer than we thought, and we didn’t get back to the van until just before dark. It literally got dark as soon as I unlocked the van. And we didn’t have anything with us…no flashlight, lighter, cell phone, food, water…nothing! Lesson learned…never, ever head out on the trail without taking supplies with you.
