Finally!

My Thoughts for Today

I’ve finally gotten my houseplants outside! It’s been too cold, with freeze multiple freeze warnings, the last couple of weeks to dare put them out. I usually have them out way before now…although I do remember having to cover plants up last year due to freeze warnings.

There’s a couple I could bring out that are still in the house, but it’s not necessary. I have three snake plants that stay in the house year-round…one is just two big and stays in my bedroom. I have one in the guest room and one in my sons’ room. These I leave in the house to help filter the air, although I’m not sure how much good it does when the windows are open. I also have an unknown plant that is the grandmother of many of my house plants that stays inside and two Christmas Cactus’ that stay in the house. They are old and need to be transplanted, but I am scared to do so. One of these days I will bite the bullet, as they say, and do it.

Anyway, I found a couple of new places to hang my hanging plants. In the first two photos, the plants are hanging in a sage tree/bush. I’m sure there will be more photos throughout the summer…maybe, who knows.

This shelf – above – is the best! It gets hardly in sun and is protected by the azalea…which is huge! I might put another shelf up on the other end of the deck.

I’ve also started working on my walkway to the deck again! Will I have it finished by summers end? I can only hope…

Not a very noticeable difference in the photos, I know…but I can tell the difference. The photo on the left is before…there are two more bricks, which I am using as steppingstones of sorts. I need to lift the bricks at the bottom of the steps about an inch or so and fill in with some more rock, which I plan to do next week hopefully. Water still noticeably puddles at the bottom when we get a lot of rain. Lifting the bricks and adding some more rock should take care of it. It’s not really a big deal, as the puddle/water is away from the steps, and as soon as it stops raining the water dissipates. But stepping off the deck means your feet get wet, and depending on the situation, even that’s not that big a problem. 99% of the time I don’t have shoes on anyway, spring through fall. But other people might not like it too much.

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
