1776 was attacked again last night, in fact – they’ve got the same group on a bullhorn yelling across the mall right now. They just won’t stop, and the police won’t do anything about it – unless someone is physically attacked. It’s disgusting, and I wish I could get down there to show solidarity. But my asthma won’t allow it to happen. My housemate won’t go because he knows he would be arrested.
Magamericans, who is ex Army, made some really good suggestions during this mornings meeting. Start doing things! They have a stage set up now, so they are planning some rallies and/or speeches, and then other things to get people involved. Like flag football, soccer, board games, face painting – family fun things. They’ve been handing out pamphlets and pocket constitutions, but most times it’s a quick interaction. Whatever they do, they need to counter what these unhinged people are doing.
And unhinged they are…I won’t link to any of their youtube channels, but one is Freedom Squirrel and the other is Defender of ants. Check them out if you wish – I don’t like listening to either of them, and when my housemate has them on, I usually end up walking away.
Santa suggested earlier this week (I think) not to engage with them, but that’s not working. Usually, when they don’t get the attention they crave they get discouraged and end up leaving. Not these people. I’ve made the comment, to my housemate and son, that they need to make a human wall with their backs to them. Or just start singing and/or praying. Maybe both. Maybe people would join them. I don’t know.
I do know, if I could get down there, I would.
If you would like more information, 1776 does have facebook, twitter and other accounts. I know they can be contacted that way. They do accept donations, and they would love to see people down there, even if it is just for a day or weekend. Like I said earlier, I would be down there yesterday if my asthma would allow it (since covid, it has gotten worse).
Maybe when the weather is better, I will be able to make it.
hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
