the first and the last

This is something new I’ve only started recently, where I share the first and the last photo on my cell phone camera roll.

First, I wanted to let you know that we are safe, dry and warm. The rain hasn’t been as bad as they predicted – at least not here. I haven’t been following the track of the storm that close, but I don’t think it came as far inland as they thought. That’s just my conclusion though. My housemate’s son said the wind is howling where he is, on the other side of the Cheasepeake Bay. I still haven’t been able to see how well the new walkway works…every time we get any heavy rain, I’m sound asleep. Rain and thunderstorms put me into a very deep sleep, which is kind of scary. My son is the same way…we both sleep through nighttime thunderstorms. My housemate does wake up though, so that’s a good thing.

The wind hasn’t been that bad either. A couple small branches have come down, but nothing major. A bit breezy, but that’s about it.

As a radio host said this morning “They can predict what the weather will be forty years from now but can’t predict the weather today.”
