x-files: smart virus

I’ve been looking for this episode of x-files for a long time. For months!! I originally saw this back over the summer months…but it got lost amongst other things, and I could only find it as a facebook watch clip. I saw it again on wimkin earlier this week and it was a rumble posting – so I was/am able to share as an embed.

I’m not sure when this episode came out, but I’m pretty sure it was during the last run they attempted a few years ago. If you remember, the series originally ran from September 1993 to May 2002. It came back in 2016 with a short 10th season and again in January 2018. I believe this episode is from the newer seasons – between 2016 and 2018. After 2018, things started getting crazy with covid and all that…I’m not sure if they plan on doing anything else.

This episode is about the “smart virus”. It’s kind of freaky, looking back at this. Considering the episode came out at least a year before things went crazy.

I used to watch this every week back in the day, the original series. Those were the days when it was about unexplained phenomena… mostly aliens. But other “happenings” too, like werewolves or shape shifting, psychic powers, smart computers… I rarely missed an episode.

The last two seasons deal with topics such as the mandala effect, artificial intelligence. I tried to watch the new seasons, but I had too much going on at the time to be able to sit down and watch it. This was before streaming…

I’m not sure exactly when this aired. I know it’s a newer episode, but I can’t find it based on the title.
