Since my last posting on population growth on December 26, 2022, the population has grown by: 728,110
I compared the numbers for the population growth this year (today) to the population growth from the 26th, and the numbers are off by two: 728,108…don’t know what that’s about. The numbers should be the same.

According to worldometers.com, the world population in 2020 was: 7,794,798,739
In 2021, the world population was:  7,874,965,731, according to populationpyramid.com. A growth of 80,166,992.
In 2022, the world population growth for the year is: 66,609,689, according to worldometers.com, with a total population of: 8,008,306,364

In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 per day.

Nowhere close to their goal, but they’re working on it. As of right now the deaths per day are around 80,000. Births are between 164,000 and 174,000 per day. The population growth is by no means stagnant, but neither it is growing by leaps and bounds. These numbers are for the world, not country or region.

yearly growth rate (%)

Population in the world is, as of 2022, growing at a rate of around 0.84% per year (down from 1.05% in 2020, 1.08% in 2019, 1.10% in 2018, and 1.12% in 2017.) The current population increase is estimated at 67 million people per year.

One thing I like about this page, is that some of the charts and graphs are interactive.

I know we still have one more day in this calendar year (2022), but it is what it is. My next population growth post will probably be on Monday, January 2, 2023.

I’m not sharing this info to try to prove anything or scare anyone. I honestly want to see what is going on with the population. Over time, we will see what is going on. From what I see, population growth has slowed way down. The world population only grew by almost 212 million people in two years (approximately 106 million a year since 2020), that’s not a whole heck of a lot!

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
