Just in case

the first and the last
my thoughts

Religion does not give you the answers
It stops you from asking questions

There won’t be a Sunday religious/spiritual post today – they are being moved to Saturdays. I just feel that they are more appropriate for Saturday – the Sabbath, than for Sunday. I originally wanted to post them on Saturdays, but being how things are in the world, I went with Sunday. At least temporarily.

Hopefully, this year will be better than last year, but I have a feeling it’s going to be worse. At least for some people. It’s not going to be an easy year. I hope I’m wrong.

2022 wasn’t too bad a year, all things considered. It could have been better – I didn’t go fishing once! Nor did my son and I go hiking. Most of our energy was spent on preparing for what is to come. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worse. It’s not that we’re fearful or anything like that – but it’s better to be prepared than caught off guard. I was raised that way.

Making sure we have firewood for the winter.
Seeds to plant in the spring.
Filtering and distilling water.
Stashing money away.
Paying the bills in full.
Making sure the pantry is full and rotated.

Candles, oil, lighters and matches.

Just in case.

You just never know. There’s no way to be prepared for everything but having a plan and being prepared gives you a chance to get by. It’s not as stressful if the pump (for the well) goes bad knowing there is water, at least for a few days. If there is a snowstorm, or something happens at the stores, and you can’t get out for a few days…it’s nice to know that there is food in the pantry/freezer. If the electricity goes out – whether it’s for an hour or for days – candles, matches, and a wood stove ensure there will be light and heat.

Every skill you learn is an investment in yourself

You never know when in your life it may be called upon to be used.

I didn’t plan on this going where it went, but the thoughts came and I typed.

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!

Look at this weather being all springy and cute like it didn’t just try to kill us last week.
