Let it snow

January 25, 2023

We’re finally getting some snow!

Not much, but it gave me something to photograph.

I have to be honest, I’ve been having a hard time going out and getting photos, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that we’ve hardly gotten any snow. A little ice a few weeks ago, but that’s about it. It’s hard taking photos when there’s really nothing new or noteworthy to take photos of…but that’s the life of a photographer, a nature photographer, I guess.

I went and grabbed an old piece of carpet to put down over my rock path, so if/when we have to shovel any snow, we’re not throwing rock everywhere. Hopefully, it also gives us some traction when needed.

We’ll see how it goes, but hopefully it works.

Now that it’s there, it will probably stay there until spring.

Most of the snow has already melted at this point, but they’re still calling for a “wintry mix” and some freezing over night. Maybe I’ll be able to get some more neat photos to share!

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!

  1. We had our first snow of the season yesterday – 7 inches! The sun is out today and it’s melting away already. 🙂

    • Thank you!
I wouldn’t mind getting seven inches at this point. It’s turned over to rain now, might freeze overnight. We shall see.

  2. I’ve had over a foot of snow since last week, more tonight. Pretty, but I’m getting tired of shoveling.

    • Where I live, we don’t necessarily have to worry about shoveling. The worst part is getting the lane open. When they’re predicting a lot of snow we go to the store and hunker down. We’ve been stuck back here for four or five days.
      Shoveling snow isn’t any fun.
