so, what are we to do?

Be gay?

anti-sodomy: serving or intended to prevent or punish sodomy (Miriam Webster Dictionary)

sodomy: anal or oral copulation with another person, especially anal or oral copulation with a member of the same sex; 2copulation with an animal

Leviticus 18: 22-24 (NKJV) You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.
Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it.
Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.

‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled,
which I am casting out before you.

Romans 1: 27 (NKJV) Likewise also the [a]men, leaving the natural use of the [b]woman,
burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful,
and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
[a] males [b] female

1 Timothy 1: 8-11 (NKJV) But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,
knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person,
but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners,
for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers,
and if there is any other thing that is [a]contrary to sound doctrine,
11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

Hebrews 13: 1-5 (NKJV) Let brotherly love continue.
Do not forget to entertain strangers,
for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
Remember the prisoners as if chained with them
— those who are mistreated — since you yourselves are in the body also.
Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled;
but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have.
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

So what are we to do?

We are to love one another and show compassion, as God has loved us. And pray. Showing love and compassion does not mean that we allow our own rights to be trampled, our dignity to be devalued or our beliefs to be trampled. We can love the sinner, but not the sin.

I can work alongside a homosexual person, and probably even get along with them, but socializing or inviting them into my home…probably not. We are told to love each other in the Bible, but certain things are a sin, and shouldn’t be elevated as “okay” in the church, such as putting a person with questionable morals in authority (in the church). There is a difference in a sin and a crime, which is the way it should be. Everyone needs prayer. Jesus didn’t come and die on the cross only for certain people.

Years ago, my mom used to babysit two neighbor children. They went to school with us, and eventually went to church with us. The mother eventually asked to be a Sunday School teacher, but wasn’t allowed to. Why? Because she was living with her male partner whom she wasn’t married to. It was the churches right to deny her teaching position, as it is also the right of any organization to deny employment – if the candidate doesn’t meet certain criteria. We have gotten to a place in society where unqualified people are hired for fear of retribution if not hired. It’s happening in the churches, education system…all over.

“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own;
but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you”

John 15:19

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!

Love all people,
not all lifestyles.

1 Corinthians 13: 3-8 (NKJV)
And though I bestow all my goods to feed
the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,
but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own,
is not provoked, thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

…it does appear that the Pope is trying to do some damage control. We shall see what happens.
