zip ah dee do dah

March 14, 2023

Since Disney has decided that this song is too racist to be included in its parades and rides, I decided to use it for today’s song.

Disneyland has removed the “zip-a-dee-doo-dah” lyric played during its park parades because it comes from a movie that has been criticized for racist portrayals of Black Americans.” (wptv.com)

Zip A Dee Doo Dah

lyrics:

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin’ my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!

Mister Bluebird’s on my shoulder
It’s the truth, it’s “actch’ll”
Everything is “satisfactch’ll.”

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day
Plenty of sunshine headin’ my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!

Mister Bluebird’s on my shoulder
It’s the truth, it’s “actch’ll”
Everything is “satisfactch’ll.”
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, feeling this way!

Mister Bluebird’s on my shoulder
It’s the truth, it’s “actch’ll”
Everything is “satisfactch’ll.”
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!

“”Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” is a song composed by Allie Wrubel with lyrics by Ray Gilbert for the Disney 1946 live action and animated movie Song of the South, sung by James Baskett. For “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”, the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and was the second Disney song to win this award, after “When You Wish upon a Star” from Pinocchio”

Honestly, I think they’re making a mountain out of a mole hill, but maybe that’s just me. It’s a feel good song. I grew up watching the movies, singing the songs, and reading the books. There is nothing racist about the song, in my opinion. But, according to the left, everything is racist.

hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
