photography, artwork, stories, thoughts, words by hcmorris77

The poor thing broke during a windstorm one day last week. I didn’t want to just leave it or toss it, there were still some flowers that needed to open – which they have. So I filled the jug with water and stuck the stem in it. As it dies off, I will collect the seed heads, dry them and store them for next year.
further thoughts
I was hoping that after taking five days off things would settle down a little, but they have not. In fact, they seem to have ramped up a little bit. Nothing to do about it, but deal with it.
I have brought back my DSLR (digital single lens reflex) photos, which means I need to figure out how things are going to work. But first, let me backtrack a little…
When I first started blogging, it was supposed to be garden photography, travel adventures, short stories and such. To keep things short, things started happening – before covid – that led me to start sharing more controversial things (some may remember the dreams and things I started going through back then). I wasn’t sharing things like I am now, I was trying to keep from doing it. The only thing I can say is, when God says do something – you do it.
I took a break from working on my DSLR photos for a while, I can’t remember exactly how long. I had just started selling photos at Picfair, and had photos at Pixels, when covid hit. I tried keeping the stores up, but nothing was happening, so I canceled my subscriptions. And stopped working on my DSLR photos.
Fast forward to now…
I’ve started working on my photos again, and sharing them here. They’re the photos with (c)HCMorris2023, or whatever year it is/was. Now, I just need to figure out how things are going to work…I think, for now, my DSLR photos will be my “wonderful ~ beautiful” photos or maybe a mixture of cell phone and DSLR photos, “picture of the day” will be cell phone photos, and… I will also probably share more recent/seasonal photos as appropriate – without driving myself – and you – crazy.
Other than that, I don’t think there will be any other changes. As much as I would like things to be different, I have to do what I have to do – and do what the Lord has called me to do.
Maybe one day I’ll be able to start selling my photos again, but for now, I am content.
hope you have a great day!
thanks for stopping by!!
I’m glad you started working with your photos again. It’s important to keep our ‘production’ up for ourselves. I’m doing the exact same thing, only with music. Also, I never intended to blog about this stuff either but a calling is a calling. No getting away from it.
Thank you!
I feel like I was put here on purpose, if that makes any sense. Like, I’ll let her think she’s blogging about gardens and whatever, but I’ll give her a nudge. Get her where I want her.
It was hard at first, but as soon as I accepted it, it got easier.
Glad you were able to pick up your hobby again and not totally abandon it. If I take a good photo, it’s an accident.
Thank you!
