then and now

2017 vs 2023

The first photo was made in 2017 after having the wood floors installed. Before, we had hideous dark green carpet – it showed every piece of lint and debris, and was original with the house. It didn’t matter if I had just vacuumed, it looked like it had been a while. These wood floors are awesome, and helps keep the house cooler in during the hot, summer months. In the fall, we put area rugs back down.

I’m always moving things around, making room for things I pull from the basement – that deserve a spot where it can be appreciated. It’s kinda funny, I think the “newest” thing in the most recent photo is the television and the stand it is on.

The wallpaper will be coming down soon, and I think I’m going to do a drip paint border. I don’t really feel like painting the whole room. I could, but it would require a lot of effort – and a lot of furniture, paintings, shelves would have to be moved or taken down. I will still have to move things or take things down, but not like I would if I painted all of the walls. Doing a drip paint border would allow me to work on one section at a time. I think I would use blue, green, white, yellow, and black…maybe pink. I also need to convince my housemate that it will work out the way I think it will.
