Invasion of the flies

The flies are horrible! Have been for a couple weeks, ever since the farmer neighbor saturated the field in front of the house with manure!
I’ve tried a few things to try and get rid of them, but nothing really seems to help. I’ve tried burning incense and citronella, spraying a vinegar/dish soap concoction…It seems to work for a little bit, but not for long. I ran out of citronella, so I need to get more. There’s just so many, I’d probably have to spend a fortune to really be able to do anything about it. For the most part, I stay in the house. Or in the pool.
They swarm, making it nearly impossible to sit on the deck from about 11am until after the sun sets/it gets dark.
I’m sure some of it has to do with how incredibly dry it’s been – but the neighbor spraying the field didn’t help any.

Sounds pretty awful with all the flies. Hope you find something that will help get rid of them. Tell your tadpoles to hurry up & grow into frogs so they can eat the flies all up! haha 🙂

It’s not quite as bad today, but I still can’t sit on the deck for more than a few minutes.
