I don’t leave footprints in the sand
I leave boot tracks footprints in the mud

…whenever possible, I walk barefoot – even in the winter, if I can find a bare patch of ground I will stand there barefoot – and absorb whatever I can.

I read old books
because I would rather learn
from those who built civilization
than those who tore it down
