Child sacrifice ~ abortion

In the Old Testament there were many pagan false gods that the Israelites wandered to worship.
One such false god was Moloch.
Today moloch worship is continued with child sacrifice in abortion.
The sacrifice to Moloch was recorded in Jeremiah
“They built high places to Baal in the Valley of Beth-Hinnom
and immolated their sons and daughters to Molech bringing sin upon Judah.”
The Israelites left the Lord to follow this false pagan god and gave their children in worship.
Aside from violating the first commandment,
Moloch worship is explicitly condemned by the Lord in Leviticus.

“Tell the Israelites, anyone, whether an Israelite or an alien residing in Israel,
who gives any of his offspring to Molech shall be put to death. Let his fellow citizens stone him.
I (God) myself will turn against such a man and cut him off from the body of his people; for in giving his offspring to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.”
(Leviticus 20:2-3)

King Ahaz and Manasseh even made their children pass through the fire
which lead all of Israel in sin.

How is abortion the same?
God has commended that child sacrifice and murder are sin.
It is essential to know that unborn babies are just as human as a fully developed adult
because they have a unique set of genetic information from conception.
Killing unborn babies is a violation of God’s law because God has made man in His image.
Killing an image bearer of God is cosmic treason of God’s Holy Law.
When Cain killed Able, the Lord said “your brother’s blood is crying out to me from the ground” Gen. 4:10 The shedding of innocent blood cries out to the Lord for His holy vengeance. This is further seen in God’s law for the penalty for murder.

“Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made man.” Genesis 9:6

The “Womb to Tomb” argument goes directly against God’s law
because God clearly states that when one takes the life of another human
their life is demanded of them in exchange for slaying an image bearer of God.
Abortion is sacrifice to the sun god.

In ancient civilizations child sacrifice was often required to appease false gods to bring rain.

Today, many are told to abort their children to prevent climate change.
These are both forms of child sacrifice to false gods in order to appease the spirit of the age.
Instead children should be viewed as a blessing
who may be able to solve many of our worlds current problems.

Abortion is the modern form of eating one’s children.
When Israel sinned against God, He pronounced a curse that when they were placed under siege they would eat their own children to satisfy themselves.

“Then you will eat the offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the Lord your God has given you.”
(Deuteronomy 28:53)

Abortion is the modern way children are “eaten.”
Pregnancy and childbearing are viewed as a hindrance to career advancement for women.
The argument goes that children are an expense that will lower one’s luxury living and a woman will have to “watch her potential evaporate” for the sake of her child.
When children are aborted, the mothers career is valued above the life of the child – effectively sacrificing their offspring for their own ambitions. It is putting ones own selfish desires above the life of another human being; being willing to, and literally taking a life for convenience sake.
However, children are a gift from God and should be protected as image bearers of their Creator.

While we as a nation look at the Aztecs, Incas, and countless of other ancient civilizations as barbarians for sacrificing their children to some statue to bring rain or a good harvest, we are no better.
We instead sacrifice our children on the altar of career advancement, women’s rights, independence, and luxury lifestyles believing ourselves to be morally superior.

Our nation is far more depraved than ever imaginable.

*I have to note that we are talking about outright murder and sacrifice here, and not protecting oneself and family. There is a deference… killing for convenience vs killing in self defense, if necessary. I guess I should also say that having an abortion due to rape or incest isn’t what this post is about either. Some people say “no abortions, no matter what”, but a woman shouldn’t have to carry a baby because a blood relative did something. Having an abortion for convenience, as a form of birth control is wrong.
