Black forestst cake

Taken February 13, 2016 with my Samsung cell phone

Looks delicious, right? Tasted like cardboard! I don’t know what happened…but it tasted awful!! My dad wouldn’t even eat it! And he eats everything!!!

I followed the directions to the t…but something went wrong. Oh well, it looks good enough to eat!!

REFLECTIONS 2 June 21, 2019

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them!

Going out with the camera right after it rains is always refreshing… for me, anyways! The first time I did the reflections series, I was just playing around. Seeing what I could get. It actually surprised me that they turned out as good as they did!

Now, when it rains, I can’t wait for it to stop so I can see what I can find! It usually takes a couple of shots to get a good one, but that’s ok. I’ve learned that just because it’s not “perfect” doesn’t mean that I can’t work with it. Somehow, someway, it might be able to be used for something. Almost always!

I love the detail in some of the raindrops! Well, I guess they all have pretty good detail…

Same as above, just turned 180 degrees
A bug and two reflections

Some of the photos are drops hanging from holly leaves, others are hanging from a yucca plant. The first one was actually taken last week, and is hanging from a vine!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Is that soap, or a cupcake?

Taken September 2, 2015 with my Samsung cell phone camera.

It’s soap…for a while, I was melting down leftover soap. I had gotten the container and directions to do it. After a while though, the container melted. I guess the water got too hot.

Thinking about it, I could probably use a small mason jar…

To do this, you put the little leftover pieces of soap in the dish (this was white, heavy plastic with a lid) and boil it. I can’t remember exactly how long, but 10 minutes seems to stick in my mind (might be less). Anyway, you boil it until the soap is melted. Take it out of the water and let it cool…now you’ve got soap made from soap you would normally throw away.

While I was letting it cool, my son put the little rock on it. And of course, I had to take a picture.

POINT AND SHOOT 2June 20, 2019

Here are some of my point and shoot photos for this week.

Spiderplant
Black eyed susans

I’ve found, in my own personal experience, that sometimes things turn out better if you don’t focus so hard.

Field daisies

Let things flow!

I still haven’t figured out what this flower is…

Now that he has gotten older, he doesn’t climb as much as he used to.

SON OF A LEPRECHAUN

June 19, 2019

How do I explain the title?

Well, the first thing I have to say is I’m short, he’s tall. I’m talking about my son here. He’s close to 6 foot tall, I’m 5ft3in.

Looks like a rock star

A few years ago, he “outgrew” me. It’s the best way I can put it! I’d say he was in 8th grade. And ever since then he has called me leprechaun. I’m not offended by this, as, whenever he says this I call him “son of a Leprechaun”.

If I’m a Leprechaun, he’s the son of one…right?

These photos were taken while I was still in college. The one titled “looks like a rock star” was for a studio photography class project where we had to use gels. I cut a colored (this one was red) folder divider down and stuck it in front of the camera. Not fully, but just enough the give a red high light . The one not titled was also taken for the same class.

He has had long hair since he was in first grade. He would cry and throw such a fit, telling me it hurt. So…I stopped cutting his hair. I would trim it and as long as it stayed clean and combed I let it be.

He is the best “thing” that has ever happened to me! I’m sure there will be more about him in the future…

I guess that’s all I have for now.

So, until tomorrow,

This is a tease for the post later today. I will explain the title in this post!
