With a little bit of work. . .

I brought these Coca-Cola crates in a couple years ago with the intention of repurposing them. At first, I thought I’d put them up on the wall, individually, as a type of shadow box. But I couldn’t figure out where to put them, so I “put them away” for a bit.

Then, with moving things around and whatnot, I decided to put them there – so I could look at them and think, but they were still kind of out of the way.

Then, the other day I got this idea that I could make them into a shelving unit. So I stacked them to see if it would work.

I think it will, with a little bit of work! I will need to attach them together, put a back on one (or not?), find a place for it, then maybe attach it to the wall so it doesn’t fall over. It seems pretty sturdy when I stacked them, but attaching it to the wall is just a safe guard. I could also put a base on it…

I don’t think I’ll paint it or anything, just leave them with there wear and tear – but I might put some polyurethane on them, just to preserve them as is…

In other news…

My son and I are hunkered down for the weekend. It’s a snowy, icy mess out there! The above photo was made earlier, but the snow cover hasn’t changed that much since then. Maybe a little more white on the ground…

As soon as I heard of the possibility of snow/ice, I started bringing as much wood in as possible. We started bringing wood in, I should say. My son did help. We’ve got enough wood in the house to last us at least through the weekend.

It’s been very quiet here today, even the interstate behind my house is quiet. Which is a good thing!
