Our Wildlife!

Scuttle like a spider
Hover like a fly
Soar like a swallow
High up into the sky

Snuffle like a badger
Buzz like a bee
Scamper like a squirrel
Through the branches of a tree

Curl up like a hedgehog
Slither like a snake
Quack like a duckling
As it swims across the lake

Creatures all around us
That crawl or swim or fly
Which one is your favourite –
And can you tell me why?

Shinrin-Yoku is a Japanese noun that roughly translates to “forest bathing.” For thousands of years forest bathers have praised the healing and restorative benefits of spending time under a living canopy. After years of research into the tangible benefits of this beloved pastime, scientists have found evidence that spending time in nature reduces stress hormones, blood glucose levels, and blood pressure (2), among other great benefits. #forestbathing #mindfulness #meditation #wellness

“When we walk into a grove of trees or under an open sky, the magic of nature takes over and the heaviness of life lifts just a little.”

~ Natasha Cassinerio

      • In order to get to my property you need to bypass a cedar and blue spruce pines. Once you get past them, it does feel like a different place…like your miles and miles from town, but in reality only two or three miles from the city limit.
I never really thought about it applying to my life personally, but the statement is true.
